Dr. Hadeel Mashhour Alabdali

Dr. Hadeel Alabdali is a Consultant Rheumatologist and Vice Chair of the Rheumatology Department at King Abdulaziz Hospital in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. She also serves as a Consultant Rheumatologist for the Hajj Mission with the Makkah Health Cluster. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah, in April 2014. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency Training at King Abdulaziz Hospital, Makkah (2019–2022), before obtaining the Saudi Board of Internal Medicine (SBIM) in November 2022. She went on to complete the Saudi Fellowship in Rheumatology at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in January 2026. Her clinical practice centers on autoimmune and musculoskeletal disease, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis, myositis, macrophage activation syndrome, fibromyalgia and scleroderma. She has delivered educational lectures on ACR guidelines for lupus management, macrophage activation syndrome, myositis and fibromyalgia, teaches musculoskeletal (MSK) examination technique to medical students, and has contributed to research evaluating a modified Rodnan skin score (mRSS) training course used to assess scleroderma. She was named Scientific Committee Member for the 4th Scleroderma Preceptorship Program (2026) and won the Saudi Society for Rheumatology Jeopardy Competition (2025); she is a member of the Saudi Society for Rheumatology (SSR). She serves as an OSCE Examiner at the College of Medicine, Umm Al-Qura University (2024 & 2026), and represented the Western Region as Rheumatology Fellowship Representative (2025). Her published research includes a two-center retrospective study on tofacitinib in rheumatoid arthritis (Cureus, 2022) and a case report on secondary syphilis (Cureus, 2023)
