Dr. Abeer M Salama

Dr. Abeer Majid Salama is an double American Board-certified consultant pathologist with extensice academic experience in surgical pathology. She completed advanced fellowship training in oncologic surgical pathology and cytopathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and in breast and gynecologic pathology at NYU Langone, following residency and chief residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Mount Sinai in New York. She currently practices as Consultant Pathologist – Breast, GYN and cytology in National Guard Riyadh, and serves as Section Head of Point of Care, Blood Collection and Receiving for the Central Region at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, King Abdulaziz Medical City, where she is also Vice Chair of the Digital Pathology Committee. Her subspecialty expertise spans cytopathology, breast, gynecologic, and oncologic pathology. She has particular strengths in digital pathology implementation, laboratory operations, CAP-accredited quality management, and turnaround-time improvement, alongside an active record of peer-reviewed research and academic teaching.
